Things I Worry About as a Mom AND Random Thoughts On Female Anatomy & Sensuality

Things I Worry About As A Mom

  • Will my boys eat whole foods when they fly the coop and maintain the cellular healthy eating habits I have taught them,
  • Texting drivers on the road when my kids (and everyone else’s kids) are out riding their bikes,
  • The fact that my kids rarely go out on their bikes ūüė¶ ,
  • I have brought 2 males into this world and will I let loose 2 more males who are clueless about female sensual anatomy and pleasure? (Trust me there are more worries but I will stop here for now.)

Which leads me to…

Random Thoughts on Female Anatomy and Sensuality

Much to my kid’s humorous despair, yes, we talk about these things at the dinner table: female anatomy and sensuality, being good partners in a relationship, etc.

holding hands     female male symbols

Which of course brings up their ever present questions: “Why can’t you be a normal Mom? Do you think other families have these dinner time discussions?”

To which I reply… “Other people’s dinner time discussions are not my concern. I want to make certain I send happy, healthy males out into this world who will appreciate and love up their women.”

When I was 20 years old I took my first job in OB/GYN nursing working as an office nurse for a fine ON/GYN Doc. I fell in love with Maternity Nursing. Wait, who am I trying to kid? As a student nurse watching my first delivery, I fell in love with Maternity Nursing, but I did my obligatory time, one year as a Med/Surg Nurse, to sharpen all my nursing skills.

I have always been amazed at the miracle of life: two half cells (egg and sperm) come together and create one whole cell. This one cell splits and divides billions and billions of times to create each and every organ system (200 different types of cells doing different jobs in the body!). Does this not amaze you?

Another thing that fascinated me is how the fetal reproductive tract is exactly alike the first 2 months of pregnancy. That is correct; our reproductive tissues look and are exactly alike until about 8 weeks!

fetal genitalia development

At about 8 weeks if a fetus has the XY chromosome structure ¬†male symbol¬†the fetus begins to produce testosterone which then differentiates the reproductive tract into male organs, genitalia. This is so cool to me: left unchecked by testosterone, the fetus will always develop as a female. Was the Eve created from Adam story a bit off? Hmmmm….

My ramblings about female and male sensuality could go on, will go on, but I must now go bake an apple pie for my darling sons whom I hope to encourage and inspire to be great partners in the ever present dance of love, sensuality, and sexuality that we dance throughout our lifetimes.

Honoring Our Cycle is

Honoring our Divine Female Soul.

Spring Enlivens Us Because

We Embrace the Winter,

The Full Moon Enchants Us Because

We Invite the New Moon to Wash Over Us,

The Light Nurtures Us Because

We Walk Through the Darkness with Grace.

Females who Embrace Life In the Flow of

Their Cyclical Nature,

Happy Birthing Day to ME!

As Mothers, Parents, we take the time to celebrate our Kid’s birthdays. This is a time to make them feel special, wanted in this world, and feel our own gratefulness for their presence in our lives.

My first son was born on July 29th. He made me a Mom (We, as women, are all Mothers with the ability to always Mother others, Mother all beings!).

mom and jake Snuggling my Jake!

I urge all Moms to celebrate each and every one of your Kid’s birthdays as your special day as well. ¬†These are the days you birthed your babes; brought forth your creations into this world.

The birthday, birthing day, is a time of joy, a time to celebrate:

  • the divine process of fertilization and pregnancy (Hey, the divine menstrual cycle that brings forth our ability to create!),
  • the actual labor and birthing process, the whole bittersweet process,
  • the years of being a Mom and all that entails…,
  • your growth as a human being and the wisdom you have called home to your own being (It is so easy to “say” how we would be as a Mom, a Parent, and how Kids “should” be raised. This is a whole other experience when we are right in the heat of it all. Nothing like doing it to create our own wisdom! Being a mom has taught me to never give advice about something I have never actually done!),
  • the beautiful souls, your children, who walk this plane of existence with you; they have so much to teach us if we only pay attention and listen instead of thinking we, as parents,¬†have all the answers,
  • the wisdom we become as we walk through life as Mom, with our Mother’s grace,
  • and gratitude for all our mom’s gave to us and taught us along their mothering path (even when we hear our mother coming out in our own words to our kids!).

Every year when my boy’s birthdays roll around, I show gratitude for their place by my side and all they have taught me about being me!

Jake, Eli, and Mom, 12 years ago… where does the time go?

jake's 15th

A few months back, I made an “oreo” cookie cake for Eli, my 12 year old’s birthday. ¬†I reported about it in my blog post: ¬†My Holistic Momma’s Dilemma.¬†I used the Newman-Os as you see above. This cake was a big hit with my kids and is being repeated here, 3 months later, for Jake’s 15th.

Happy 15th Birthday Jake and Happy Birthing Day to Me!

Pregnancy Your Goal?

If you are having struggles with creating a pregnancy, try these 10 lifestyle steps to make healing changes in your body:

  1. Whole food diet Рthis means incorporating only those food which nature made and they are still in their whole state.  Packaged, processed, refined foods have to go.  See the link for more details.
  2. Move your body daily.  Muscle, body movement, helps circulation of blood, lymph fluids, life force energy, digestive tract contents, etc.  Your body functions better when you move. Scroll down this link to read about the 23 benefits of exercise.
  3. Drink pure water and herb teas. *Herb tea recipe for fertility below.
  4. Cycle your body with nature because you are nature!  For a great book about bringing you home to your magical menstrual cycle, click here.
  5. Sleep.  Get to sleep before 10 pm and get 8 hours of deep rest.  Your body functions better when it is well rested.  Healing takes place when you sleep!
  6. Get chemicals out of your life: chemical medicines (prescription or over the counter), cosmetics, soaps, shampoos, cleaning supplies, body fragrances, deodorants, etc. ¬†If you would not eat it (whole foods here…) you do not want it on your body, soaking in through your skin.
  7. Look at life through rose-colored glasses.  If you choose to be happy, life will look and feel differently to you.  A happy body, mind, and spirit are healthier, more fertile.  Happy replaces stress with relaxation.  Relaxation means fertility flows.
  8. Get outside for fresh air and sunlight. ¬†Do that movement outdoors! The body’s rhythms are better synchronized when you are enveloped in fresh air and natural light every day. ¬†Your hormones will love you!
  9. Take whole food supplements, not synthetic vitamins.
  10. Surround yourself with positive, happy people.  Happiness begets happiness. The body heals when it is happy.

Want more details about putting these choices into action in your life?  Give me a shout.

Paula Youmell, RN, Wise Woman Nurse¬ģ¬†Fertili-Tea Recipe
