Honoring Our Cycle is

Honoring our Divine Female Soul.

Spring Enlivens Us Because

We Embrace the Winter,

The Full Moon Enchants Us Because

We Invite the New Moon to Wash Over Us,

The Light Nurtures Us Because

We Walk Through the Darkness with Grace.

Females who Embrace Life In the Flow of

Their Cyclical Nature,

Walk in Empowerment

With the Natural Beauty of Themselves.

Period Power, Menstrual Magic, Womb Wisdom!

Jaine Rose Sister Moon

Women’s power rests in our ability to create. We create when we conceive and birth children. This same amazing energy gives us the ability to create ideas and birth them to fruition.

Women hold this feminine creative power (intuition, creativity, wisdom) in their menstrual / period cycle. The wisdom of our heads and our lives are mirrored in our womb; the wisdom of our womb is mirrored in our heads. It is a menstrual magic thing!

Learning (re-learning, as this wisdom was always a part of female’s heritage) the wisdom around our monthly menstrual cycle is very empowering. We can harness the specific creative power of where we are in our menstrual cycle to enhance our daily and monthly “tasks” and to plan self-care. Healing the female you are is enhanced when this Moon Cycle Wisdom is re-learned.

The concept of living from the space of your menstrual cycle is ancient. Women are primarily cyclical beings. (Men are primarily linear beings. There is a balance in both genders… it is the Yin/Yang thing, the hot/cold, wet/dry, light/dark thing. Nature IS balanced, when left to her own graces, in everything.) Women gathered in moon lodges and shared the beauty and power of being female. I invite you to re-learn this wisdom as part of your personal healing path.

Join me for the Female ♀ Moon Cycle Wisdom Training and reawaken your wisdom. You will heal in your heart, your spirit, and your mind-body. I promise you that you will be glad you did!

Harmonizing Nature

So often I hear people say: “I need to get out in nature more.  I know I will feel better if I do.”

I have to remind you… you ARE nature.  You can never be away from nature because nature is you.

One thing women can do to harmonize their menstrual cycles:  get more outdoor time, more time under the moon. Sun & Moon light harmonize the body. The moon pulls on the ebb and flow of the tide, menstrual cycles, life!

The cycles of life are amazing.  When we live in tune with the cycles, in rhythm with nature (remember we are nature), everything harmonizes.

The below poster was a gift from a dear friend.  The words on the bottom are a powerful message.

Using the below books will help you harmonize with your body’s cycle of fertility, a powerful gift to yourself.  As women we need to return to the power of our periods, our feminine selves, and discard the patriarchal induced notion that periods are a “curse.”

Keeping track of your moon cycle is fun on this chart, a chart that another dear friend gave me, years ago. (I try to surround myself with amazing women!)  The poster was meant for 1 year’s use.  I changed the color of my marker, each year for 5 years, and turned it into a multi-year moon calendar.

I am looking for one like it, to recommend to you.  I will give you more awesome options, below, as this one does not seem to be available anymore.

Post note on June 29th, thank you Kaitlin for finding this poster on Amazon, brilliant! http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/0974515302/ref=olp_product_details?ie=UTF8&me=

With much research and asking Menstrual Magic and Fertility Educators in Ireland, England, and Germany… I can not find the above moon cycle chart. Bummer, as it is a great space to track:

  • dates of flow
  • type of flow: heavy, medium, light
  • how your body, mind, and spirit feels coming into your moon flow, with the moon flow, and after your moon flow
  • charting the same information coming into, during, and after ovulation

And the information is there for years to come!  I used it to keep track of the menstrual migraines that crept into my life at about 40 years of age.

Note:  If anyone finds this beautiful chart, please let me know at www.PaulaYoumellRN.com  Thanks!

But, alas, my friends… I have other wonderful moon cycle charts to offer:  This beauty, below, can be viewed and purchased here and has a fine video explaining how to use it. Compliments of Lucy Pearce: artist, creative mentor, teacher of transformational women’s workshops, and so much more… check her out!

Moon Dial

Check out Lucy Pearce’s Moon Time Chart: Her Integrated Moon Chart combines the biological and spiritual aspects of your cycle to give you a deeper understanding of your own rhythms, so that you can find balance within yourself. Very helpful to use this with the above Moon Dial.

This moon calendar is available to keep track of where the moon is in her cycle to relate the moon phase to where you are in your menstrual cycle:

Your Moon cycle is a beautiful process, nurture it with love!

Sending light & love!  Paula

PS  If you have daughters, granddaughters, nieces, etc., guide them in the beauty of their moon cycle.  Creating this positive mindset around the beauty of their bodies and the cycle of their reproductive health will create a balance and peace many women of my generation did not consciously know. Let’s make change around this!  Cheer!

Secret Feminine Energy

menstrual chart

I love this menstrual chart.  When you really look at it, study it, it says so much about the amazing female moon cycle and the female body.  Truly, we woman have amazing energy going on!

If I could step back to about 12 years of age (maybe sooner, as really, should we not be bringing girls up, from day one of their sacred lives, to understand the mysteries, the secrets of feminine divinity?) I wonder what my life would be like, how it would be different, if I had been conscious of these things at a younger age, perhaps all my life?

Nature runs on cycles.  Everything and everyone follows the same cycles: the cycle of the moon, the seasons, the sun each day… everything has cycles.

I am going to compare the female moon cycle to the seasonal cycle.  Use this energy and wisdom to plan your days each month.  It is very empowering to tap into this energy and know why your body, mind, and spirit feels the way it does when it does.

Spring is a time of growth and renewed energy; a time for getting things done.

Summer is bountiful, ripe and juicy.

Fall is a time for gathering together, settling in.

Winter is a time for rest and renewal; looking forward to the spring ahead.

Use this energetic wisdom and apply it to your menstrual cycle.

Spring starts after moving out of bleeding.  Your body, deep in the endometrial layers of the uterine wall, is preparing for the next menstrual cycle.  Once you get past your bleeding days, use this spring time energy in your cycle to get things done.  It is when things are building up in your life, so use this energy wisely.

Summer is coming closer into the 2nd week of the cycle.  By ovulation, you are at the ripest and juiciest phase of the moon cycle.  Use this powerful energy to your advantage.

After ovulation, we are moving into the Fall, the Autumn, of our cycles.  Time to turn back into home (self) and take care of things there.

Winter iscoming when we are moving towards the next bleed and start bleeding.  As you get closer to the day you start bleeding, take care of you. Rest, as winter is a good time for rest.

Women tend to be at the height of their intuitive creativity just before the moon bleed starts and into the first day or so.  We open up to the universal wisdom; a good time for self insight and learning. Women moved into the moon lodges, at this time, to get and share visions of wisdom to support life in their communities. Women truly were the Wise Women!

Woman’s Wisdom

full moon lodge

In Native American – Wise Woman tradition there is a philosophy, saying, that when a girl starts her moon cycles she meets her wisdom.

As a woman walks through life experiencing and embracing her womanhood, her moon cycles, she is practicing her wisdom.

When a woman transitions out of her monthly moon cycles, she becomes her wisdom.

What a beautiful way to initiate young girls into the mysteries of womanhood, embracing the very energy and cycles that make her uniquely a woman and her own true self.

What a way to remind woman of the divine aspect of their moon cycles, of their feminine being, the ebb and flow of their life in harmony with nature’s cycles (we are nature).

Wherever you are in your moon cycles: beginning flow of teen years into bleeding time womanhood and beyond, use your moon cycles to your best advantage. Recognize the power you have in the early, building, phase of your cycle. Feel your heightened intuition in the few days preceding blood flow. Acknowledge your need to relax and be quiet as you move into the blood flow days of your moon cycle. Use your wisdom “wisely” as you thrive in the moon free, blood free, years of your life.

What might this awareness look like to you?

During the first half of your cycle (end of bleeding to ovulation): say “yes” more often to the “new” opportunities, to people and gatherings, and to meetings and new projects.

During the second half of your cycle (ovulation to next new bleed): say  ”no” more often, focusing more on the “now.”   Use this time to  bring projects and events to completion. Learn to  prioritize what really needs your attention and nurturing.

Protect your alone time, your downtime, as you move into bleeding.  Relax and increase your favorite self-care treatments.  Get a massage or acupuncture treatment.  Learn reflexology and acupressure.  Use these techniques to do home self-care:  gently massage areas that need healing touch.  Treat yourself to a home “spa” day.

Share your feminine wisdom with your daughters, friends, neighbors, grand daughters… make the path for the younger women easier and more sacred than what you may have experienced.

Being female is an amazing gift. We are the creators. Revel in your divine feminine being, nurture her.

PS If you are raising sons, teach them the wise women ways. Think how harmonious male-female relationships could be when we all understand, remember, wise woman ways!

Red Tent Rising – A Resource-Full Post

Posted on March 5th, 2014 by Lucy H. Pearce of www.thehappywomb.com

I am just getting the supplies ready for our very first red tent gathering… a box of womancraft books for the red tent library, a piece of embroidery for the centre piece, a welcome sign, some futons for resting and reading…. It will be the first I know of in the south of Ireland… I am very excited.

Held on the dark moon, a red tent is a women’s circle which is open to all women in the community and offers a place to rest during menstruation, to connect with other women, share wisdom and be held in every stage of our female unfolding.

(Want to know more about what a red tent is? Watch my short video which I made for the red tent summit or grab a copy of my free red tent booklet – Password= love.)

I planted the seed of this red tent when I wrote Moon Time.  I had never been to a red tent, and there was little information out there about them. I was hungry for knowledge… so I reached out to some of the movement’s leaders, gathered all the information I could lay my hands on, and shared it in the book. That’s how I roll! Mine was the first print book to explore the phenomenon and support women in setting up their own. I have been told that it has inspired and supported the creation of red tents in the UK, Canada and Australia as well as an online one which I am a member of.

And now we will have our own real one, in our community.

My stomach is churning and I am being a little short with my family as my brain goes into tables and chairs mode. But the excitement is overriding it… the fact that this long held dream is being born, that so many women are curious about it, that this work, and a dedicated women’s space is opening up for our community… I just think of the growth, love, support, magic, empowerment, connection and healing that will emerge from the very existence of this space and shivers run down my spine…

More women sitting in circle together than ever have before in our community. Learning to speak their truth openly and be heard. From learning to listen with an open heart and without judgement. In having a place to come and be held, to rest and recharge. A place where new ideas can take seed, new books found, new friendships formed. Where women can learn to understand and trust and even celebrate their bodies.

How it came about…

I set myself a challenge out loud – which meant I couldn’t go back on it, by promising the proceeds of the e-versions of Moon Time would go towards establishing a local red tent! And since then I have researched and reflected and waited. I knew I couldn’t do it on my own, I was waiting for conspirators… and when I met them I knew right away… I did not say anything to them at all about it –  I was in the midst of launching The Rainbow Way and I had only just met them… I just held the vision consistently affirming it, and gently released the women’s group I had run for 5 1/2 years which had run its course. Numbers were dwindling and we couldn’t find any more new participants…

And then two months later, the time was right for us all.  One of the women asked on Facebook if anyone knew of a women’s group or red tent in the area… and the flame was lit. Within an hour we had a FB group. And the other woman jumped right in as an admin, unbidden. Within a week we had a date and venue. In a month we have gotten over 100 women to our group, organically. We only invited 35 between us… the rest were just drawn to us.
We have had minor bumps in the road naturally, including our first venue cancelling only days before. But we have a new, better space now.

And our first meeting tonight and are expecting about 25 women…. many of whom I know personally, some I have only met online, one I taught blogging to, and others are completely new to me. For some it will be their first time doing women’s work with me… others have done much before having been part of our long running women’s group … there is an excitement tinged with deep nervousness, as no one knows quite what to expect. What is a red tent any way, they wonder… will it be for me? Will I be expected to sit around talking about their periods, will I know anyone else?

I try to allay the nervousness with information – links to the red tent summit which I have just spoken at, my booklet on starting a red tent, with reassurance and love…  but this is new, uncharted territory… of course there is apprehension.

Some are travelling nearly an hour to join us… others are following by Facebook – we hope to inspire them to start their own in their own community.

Are you ready for a red tent in YOUR neighbourhood? Wouldn’t it be wonderful to have one in your city, town, village, or community?

Imagine not having to wait any longer…

Imagine knowing exactly how to create a Red Tent, monthly, where you, and your women friends, can simply BE, rather than DO…

DeAnna L’am who created the Red Tent Summit has created an Online Class designed to inspire, motivate, support and equip you, to start your own Red Tent.

The Global Tele-Tent Class starts on March 12, but you can register today.

I believe that the vision of a red tent in every neighbourhood – is possible in our life time!

And I want to help you make it a reality in YOUR neighbourhood!

Please join me, and women from all over the world, to make it so!
